House Environmental Resources and Energy Chairman Bud George introduced HB 1489 yesterday. The bill would establish a severance tax and require meters on wells. The tax imposed in would be 5% of the gross value of units severed at the wellhead during a reporting period, plus 4.7 cents per unit severed. More in tomorrow’s edition. Read the bill here.
