The Public Utility Commission appeared before the Senate Consumer Protection and Professional Licensure Committee. During the hearing, Chairman Cawley noted safety concerns regarding the intrastate gathering lines for Marcellus Shale gas. The Chairman said he has put forth a proposal to the Administration for legislation for the PUC to regulate those lines. He estimated the cost of regulation to the agency at approximately $1.3 million.
