Members of the township's planning commission asked Andrew Blenko, the planning director and engineer, to look into an ordinance in Oakmont blocking drilling of gas wells in residential districts.

They hope the township can establish laws prohibiting areas where gas companies can drill, specifically when drilling creates a nuisance.
