As the natural gas industry responds to increased energy market demands, Pennsylvania has become a hot-bed for gas exploration and development. Drilling and exploration have the potential to create a significant boost to the local economy, as they also provide opportunities for service companies such as earthmoving contractors, drilling companies, pipe and equipment suppliers and maintenance workers.
