In this week's newsletter...Impact Fee, The Week We’ve All Been Waiting For (Take 2)?

January 31, 2012

Last week came and went without action on HB 1950.  Negotiations have been continuing between the General Assembly and the Administration on components of each chamber’s version of the impact fee and regulatory bill. Senate President Pro Tempore Joe Scarnati commented that an agreement may be reached by the end of the week.  Floor action in the Senate to send the bill to a conference committee has yet to occur.  The 6 member committee will consist of 3 House (2 Rep. 1 Dem.) members and 3 Senate (2 Rep. 1 Dem.).  Click here to see an analysis of the current contents of HB 1950.  With most saying they want to bring the issue to closure before the budget season begins and Governor Corbett’s budget address coming on February 7, time is running out to meet that deadline. Industry has weighed in on provisions that they feel should be revisited with a letter & suggestions to the members of the House and Senate.
