First piece of Marcellus legislation of the session scheduled for a vote
February 10, 2011
Pipeline legislation scheduled: The Senate Consumer Protection & Professional Licensure Committee has scheduled a meeting on February 15th to consider SB 325. The bill creates the Gas and Hazardous Liquids Pipeline Act. It requires the Public Utility Commission (PUC) to establish and maintain a registry of all pipeline operators. The PUC may develop an application and charge a reasonable application and renewal fee. Exemptions include those who are registered under the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Act. The safety standards will be those that exist under current federal law. The Commission’s jurisdiction is limited to gas systems that are subject to federal law and are not a public utility.
