Counties oppose DEP elimination of permits issued by local conservation districts

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection recently eliminated local conservation districts’ role in issuing two kinds of permits for the natural gas industry: erosion and sedimentation control permits and stream and wetlands permits, according to the County Commissioners Association of Pennsylvania.
